ISN is proud to announce the successful completion and go-live of a new CBIS upgrade program at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR).
As part of the project, ISN provided controls and electrical engineering to re-control and implement new two-machine CBIS systems for Node 1 and Node 2, while integrating Node 3 into a common upper-level control system. The project leveraged the existing SmartSort upper-level controls for HMI graphics, reporting, upper-level control, and TSA workstations, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
The upgraded system now manages over 450 motors, controlled via MCP-based VFDs and coordinated across multiple centralized PLCs, providing reliable and efficient baggage handling operations. All work was successfully commissioned without disruption to airport operations.
The project is now live, delivering enhanced system performance, standardized reporting, and improved operational control across all nodes at BUR.
