ISN is proud to announce the successful completion of a long-term control system modernization and support program at Harrisburg International Airport (MDT).
The project began with an initial control system re-control completed between 2015 and 2017 and continued with ongoing service, support, and targeted system improvement projects through 2024. Improvements included upgrades to equipment controllers, high-speed drives, and other enhancements designed to maintain reliable and efficient operations.
Throughout the program, the existing upper-level controls system was integrated and modified as needed to support all upgrades and modifications. The system managed over 250 motors controlled by multiple VFDs across centralized PLCs, ensuring coordinated, high-performance operation of the airport’s baggage handling systems.
The program was completed with all modifications fully tested and commissioned, providing Harrisburg International Airport with a modernized, reliable, and fully supported control system capable of meeting current and future operational requirements.
